Important Factors To Consider For Your Event Decor

Ok, so you’ve secured the most stunning venue, and now it’s time to turn it into your own personal party. How do you do that? With decorations!

Whether you want to go unusual and elaborate or simple and traditional in your wedding décor, there are three things you’ll want to consider when planning the overall look of your day.

THE CONCEPT

You can’t choose your wedding decor without having a solid idea of how you want your venue to ultimately look – Rustic? Modern? Minimalist?

We suggest to focus more on the feeling you want your wedding to evoke (relaxed, romantic, modern, edgy) instead of limiting yourself to a specific theme (rustic, beachy).

This will leave room for creativity and flexibility for the vendors when choosing your wedding decor. Example, “I want a relaxed atmosphere with rustic and bohemian undertones”.

THE COLORS

While it’s important to know the general colors you want, use the color palette as a guideline for your wedding decor. By adding different shades of your main color, you will add richness and depth to your overall look.

For example, instead of “white”, think of a “neutrals” color palette consisting of ivory or beige. This approach gives you the opportunity to have a few “focus” colors to round out your decor, ultimately creating a more authentic look.

THE ELEMENTS

Take advantage of your surroundings. The venue might already have a lot of existing charm or otherwise decorative features, such as built-in accent walls, landscaped gardens, fountains, stained glass windows or lighting fixtures. Consider how you can work on your wedding decor design to highlight those details.

For example, if you’re getting married at an outdoor venue such as a beach, or somewhere with a view, you may not need much decor and able to skip decor in some areas, due to the existing elements. Going overboard with the decor could distract from your venue’s scenery.

Plan the day according to your wants, tastes, and, most importantly, budget, and you’ll plan a day to remember fondly for years to come.
